The warmth is the point, so it's on the outside too. Plenty of jackets hide their lining - the Cold Snap Sherpa Quilted Bomber puts its plush sherpa right where you can see it, spreading into an oversized collar and folding back at each cuff, so what keeps her warm is also what makes the jacket look expensive on a rack. That collar earns its size: stand it up and it closes around the neck and jaw with no scarf required, or let it fall flat and it reads like a proper shearling lapel. The quilting is worth a second look too - diamonds broken up by rounded medallions rather than the usual plain grid, which is the quiet difference between this and every other quilted jacket at the price. Underneath, striped ribbed cuffs peek out for an unexpected bit of color. Layer it over a striped turtleneck with wide-leg denim, or throw it over a chunky knit when the temperature really drops.
